Love or Lust? O Kaadhal Kanmani movie review
O Kaadhal Kanmani shortly called Ok Kanmani, is a feel good movie that questions the necessity of marriage and how the lead characters believe that marriage inevitably turns out to be a burden in people’s lives. In the beginning scenes of the movie, the main leads meet for the second time at a church for a friend’s wedding, where they have a conversation about how both of them do not have a high opinion on marriage. They ask each other whether it’s LOVE or just LUST?
As the movie progresses, they get into a live in relationship. The movie also shows the unconditional love between their house owners who might be in their late 70s. The house owner selflessly looks after his wife who’s suffering from Alzheimer’s. Later, you see the main leads not wanting to commit to each other because of their career but gradually get attached and fall in love. They will then have to choose between their love and their career.
Will they contradict their beliefs to get married or part ways? How they manage to balance between the two forms the climax of the movie. The romantic scenes set in metro and railway stations, and the dreamy music tops it all. Overall, it is a good movie that’s relevant to the urban youth of today. In the falling action, we come to know whether it is love that overpowers or lust.
